Coffee was introduced to Iran in the sixteenth century. The word stems from the Arabic for “something undesirable”, since it removes the appetite for food and sleep.

Tea was first brought into Iran by merchants from India. It became extremely popular in Iran. Tea is served in winter to keep you warm and in the summer to cool you off. in spring, to rejoice in nature and in autumn to meditate on the season’s change.
